Monday’s Attitude of Gratitude

new shoes

Monday’s are hard for a lot of people. For me it feels like a fresh start, a new week, a different day. But today’s Monday was different. It was actually kind of horrible. Really. Horrible. And when I’ve been feeling horrible lately I try to take a step back and think of all of the things I am grateful for. I should do this all of the time, but somehow I forget. I felt the need to hop on here and put it all down though. As a reminder? A form of accountability? I have NO idea. It just feels right.

1. I got to spend the entire Sunday with my dad.

2. I am able to even think about applying to a new college.

3. Five cups of coffee. F. I. V. E.

4. Copious amounts of reading material.

5. Hillsong Young & Free on repeat.

6. Looking through my Hawaii pictures and planning my next post (and trip! Is it March yet???)

7. Small moments of clarity. Isaiah 43:2

8. Being able to explore my home town & adventure whenever I feel the need.

9. I’m grateful that no one reads this blog yet. My own little piece of the internet.

10. My new lens. It’s a 40mm pancake lens and this thing is a thousand times better than the 50mm 1.8. I. Adore. It.

Let’s make this a weekly occurrence. Sharing that grateful heart.

Hawaii: Part One

I was truly blessed to be able to go to HAWAII for almost three weeks last month. I met my aunt & uncle, their five children, and my grandparents on the island of O’ahu. We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and had the best time ever. These pictures are beautiful, blurry, and shot with lots of love. They only show bits & pieces of the very first day or so. Again I am so thankful to my aunt and uncle for letting me come and spend that time with them.

New York City

A few weeks ago I went on a business trip to New York. It was my very first time and I absolutely adored the city. On Friday we arrived and spent the afternoon walking around the city and visiting our sister locations. Saturday and Sunday were all day training sessions. Basically three days of hardcore exercise and non-stop shutter action. Here are a ton of pictures from all over the city!

Project Life

Very excited to be able to start Project Life next week. I’ve decided that instead of being six months behind I’ll just start it on the 10th of June. It will document all of my summer camp adventures and continue on into the school year. If you don’t know what Project Life is you can check it out here. I love the Midnight Edition which is the one that I am ordering on Monday! So while I wait for my beautiful album to arrive I will take pictures and make sure to document pretty much everything (at least the cool stuff). I can’t wait!

we want more!

Flowers that is. Well maybe you don’t, but my plants are blooming because it’s Spring! Yay Spring. On that note here are a few more pictures of my lovely flowers!

Last week I purchased a few small cacti plants and I stopped and bought a few small plants yesterday. I’m hoping to fill my room with beautiful plants to liven up the place a little and help it feel more cozy. I can’t paint the room and that makes it pretty tough to make the space mine with it’s current nursery theme. That’s how it was when I moved in. So. By controlling other elements in the room I might be able to beat that adorable boarder with it’s elephants, giraffes, and turtles. Well, maybe.

so in love

I absolutely adore these little thumbtacks from Target. So. Cute. I thought that I would hop on here and share a few of my little scrap/journaling treasures. I like to use tons of embellishments and texture. It makes the page more fun!

See that whale tape dispenser? Yeah I know. So cool looking. ; )

one blood

I donated blood today! Apparently I have tricky, rolling veins. Oh the joy. But in the end it’s so worth it. I even got a cool (actually cool) t-shirt. And found that my blood is O positive. It only took twenty years. The over all experience was pretty good.

hello friday

It has been a beautiful, rainy, crafting kind of Friday. Between catching up on all of those 90’s tv shows, going to get some BBQ, and working on my One Little Word album I am beat. ; )

Just kidding. But it does feels like I’ve done a lot of work even though there’s not too much to share.

Here’s the cover of my OLW (One Little Word) album. Very simple and vintage looking.

And here are a few pages and embellishments that I’ve been favoring lately.

And how could I forget pictures from lunch!

The strawberry lemonade was amazing and the chicken was so good that I forgot to take a picture!

this & that

This past weekend was pretty relaxed. I bought a lovely album for my One Little Word project. I’ll be sharing more on that in the next few days. And got a surprise mani and pedi. Oh. SO. Lovely. Not too many pictures but I thought that I would share a random one from my millions of snapshots. We’ll see about a more meaty post this evening or tomorrow! ; )

This is a lovely office window in Ybor. I absolutely adore this building. Hence the many shots of the same window that riddle both my film and dSLR and my iPhone.
